This week's theme of the drawing challenge is: "matchbox".
"A small cardboard box in which matches are kept"

But it's also a house, a gallery and a hiding place wih an inside and  an outside,
to show images, stories and thoughts, memories and landscapes.

To see more matchboxes, please visit the sites of the other participants:

I love your quartets of images, especially the first one, which seems to stick in my mind for some reason. Thanks again for organising the challenge. I had lots of fun with it.

isn't it just so, those boxes can hold a life! you've made beautiful little shadow boxes, so temperate, so clear. ..

my own post is finally up... it took me a good long while, but i had terrific fun. who'd had thought i was going to be so preoccupied with tinyness; well i was. cheers, eric! n♥

ps - i wouldn't worry too much about DC, and its meandering way of existence, but awfully glad you keep it going! you are passionate!

i do like your words Eric, a gallery and a hiding place, i guess that's why i have a weak spot for boxes in general.

the waves, the turning wheel, rotating earth, moving.

thanks for being our host.

I like what you say that matchboxes have an inside and an outside!

Little paintings in a box, little storys or something to dream about and make me wonder where to go to

Dear Eric,
yes, wonderful, clear and beautiful match-boxes you've made! It' s a delight to look at them.
Because of the dc I wanna tell you, that I 'd like to go on with organizing it and of course joining it!... if I will have a new computer and web in our new home maybe in 2 weeks (writing here from my small smartphone).
Thank you very much for keeping the wonderful drawing challenge on!

Fascinating what we can find inside and outside of those little boxes, they make us travelling!

Hello Eric. Thank you so much for keeping the challenge going. I read thru the comments and it looks like our Rose will be able to reorganise after her fire/relocation/new place and after everything comes together for her. Why don't I try hosting the next one...if it's ok with everyone...with maybe "Toast". I like the idea of toast...and not only because it's morning right now. :D Big hugs from me over here in the morning.

Hallo Eric, I'm finally here to explore your work and it certainly amazes me. Again! Love the diversity and the little stories that surely get started in my mind at once...
Thank you so much for hosting, matchboxes are an endlessly creative theme!

You are right matchboxes are wonderful places for things and stories. The blue woke up my longing to go to the sea again.
Although I am a little late, thank you for this wonderful inspirating theme.
